Business Development: Consulting Services

The Business Development Account Executive is responsible for identifying and generating new business through outside sales activities such as cold calls, prospecting, telemarketing, territory planning and relationship building within the Winnipeg business community. The ideal candidate will bring to the position a strong network of prospective clients and possess a successful professional corporate sales history in securing consulting services contracts by leveraging an instinctive skill to uncover client business challenges and create solutions to address them.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and implement an effective sales plan to meet or exceed established sales targets
  • Perform appropriate prospecting and research activities to identify qualified prospects for new business development and key accounts
  • Highlight business solution services to potential clients
  • Establish and maintain good public relations and networking within the community to develop new business including participation in industry trade associations to increase the company s presence within the local IT and business community
  • Strategically use online professional and social sites to strengthen your business network
  • Make formal sales presentations and follow-up calls to prospective new business accounts
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all services offered by Apptius and awareness of the competition i.e. market share, pricing, services offered, etc.
  • Development of professional RFP's and RFQ's for established clients and client prospects
  • Proactively seek out, research and pitch opportunities for new business and growth
  • Recruiting IT professionals to work on engagements with our clients
  • Identify new solution or service offerings for the company to pursue

Required Work Experience:

  • Successful track record of solution selling to all sizes of accounts from small businesses to large corporations and public sector organizations
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to effectively work autonomously with minimal management direction
  • Effective rapport-building and relationship management skills
  • Ability to take initiative and manage time effectively
  • Proven ability to generate sales leads and leverage existing accounts
  • Clear and concise verbal and written skills
  • Ability to articulate thoughts attractively and succinctly, both face-to-face and in writing
  • Client focused; has experience building successful long term client relationships
  • Strong technical skills including working with presentation and web based software
  • Motivated learner with demonstrated track record of ongoing professional development
  • Preparing professional proposals and RFP resposnes
  • Delivering Board room presentations
  • Engaging in IT associations and other networking activities
  • Account management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or business related field
  • 3 years of high profile consultative sales experience with proven success in solution selling of IT consulting services and/or staffing sector and a track record of hitting and surpassing financial objectives
  • Strong sales presentation and persuasion skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Team player with the ability to maintain excellent working relationships with customers, vendors and consulting resources
  • Must have reliable vehicle and valid Manitoba driver's license
